The month of Ramadan is the most anticipated month for Muslims all over the world. In this holy month, Muslims are required to observe fasting for a full month, and acts of worship are rewarded more abundantly compared to days outside of Ramadan. In addition, within this month that is full of glory and blessings, the blessings are not only found in gaining rewards but also in many other things, one of which is learning. Studying during Ramadan is considered an act of worship. In the book Durratun Nasihin, it is mentioned in a hadith narrated by Anas bin Malik (RA) that the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said, …
Translation: “Whoever attends a gathering of knowledge during the month of Ramadan, Allah (SWT) will record every step of his feet as worship equal to one year, and he will be with me beneath the Throne. And whoever consistently performs the prayers in congregation during the month of Ramadan, Allah (SWT) will grant him a city filled with His blessings.”
The hadith explains that studying during the month of Ramadan is an act of worship that carries multiplied rewards, even equated with the reward of a year of worship. In addition, Ramadan teaches self-discipline, including managing time between studying, obligatory and sunnah worship, and rest in order to remain productive.
After the Chinese New Year holiday and the off-campus learning program held on February 18–20, 2026, students returned to school on Monday, February 23, 2026. On their first day back, the students of SD Islam Al Azhar 46 Depok who had passed the National Science Olympiad (OSN) selection showed great enthusiasm in attending their training despite fasting.
In the latest competition, SD Islam Al Azhar 46 Depok successfully achieved outstanding results at the Al Azhar Science Olympiad (OSA) 2026, winning silver medals in Science, Social Studies, and Mathematics. This accomplishment has become a strong motivation to achieve even greater success in the upcoming OSN 2026. Therefore, this holy month of Ramadan is being used to study more diligently while seeking blessings through attending gatherings of knowledge.
The training is carried out by making the most of the shorter school hours compared to days outside of Ramadan. This is intended to ensure that students continue to gain the knowledge they will need for the OSN and for their future. Hopefully, the students of SD Islam Al Azhar 46 Depok—both those participating in the OSN and those engaged in regular classroom learning—will remain enthusiastic in seeking knowledge and receive blessings through it
